“An Absent Cause” is a two-part project examining the gap between how youth culture is portrayed and how it is lived. The first chapter uses media and political bias as a springboard for creating surreal, exaggerated images; the second presents a more honest, personal view through candid, snapshot-style photography. Together, they explore the tension between perception and reality, capturing the contradictions young people navigate between presence and disappearance, collectivism and isolation.
