Isla Macdonald-Wright
‘Ciocia Wiesława’ a photographic series that documents my personal journey into discovering my heritage. By combining archival fragments with contemporary imagery, the project becomes a visual meditation on belonging, cultural memory, and the role of personal history. It is a tribute to those whose stories live on through the images and a quiet search for self through the shadows of the past. This project is a tribute to the past and a reflection on the quiet, powerful act of remembering. Ultimately, this is a heartfelt investigation into the spaces between generations, the resilience carried through time, and the power of remembering. It is both a personal archive and a broader meditation on what it means to belong.
