From Greek sculpture to Arnold Schwarzenegger, relationships between the body and masculine identity have permeated through art and culture. The world of Bodybuilding represents the very extremes of this relationship, becoming a competitor in the sport requires sacrifice and a commitment of their lives in pursuit of muscular hypertrophy.
It is a small world and a niche sport, but with a history of breaking through into mainstream facets of culture due to the extortionary feats of self-sculpture. Burn Baby Burn explores this world of dark rooms, loud music and old machines; with a focus on its competitors and the worlds in which they build their physiques.
